Beef Meatball - Ziti Bake



  • 10 ounces of lean grounded beef
  • 2 medium finely chopped onions
  • 6 ounces ziti
  • 3 ounces grated part skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup of minced fresh basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 small minced garlic cloves 
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce ( with out adding salt )
  • 1, 10 ounces package thawed, chopped spinach ( well drained and squeezed dry )
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cook ziti about 10-12 minutes, in large pot of boiling water, until tender.
Drain and set ziti aside.

In a medium bowl, combine pepper, salt, beef, seasoning, onions and garlic and form in to same sized meatballs ( 15 or 16 meatballs )
In a skillet, heat olive oil, add meatballs, cook over medium heat.
Turn meatballs as you need,  8 -10 minute until they browned all sides and cooked through. 
Remove from heat.

Add tomato sauce, half of cheese, spinach, basil and ziti to meatballs, stir well to combine.
Transfer meatballs to a suitable baking pan, sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
Cover and bake for 18-20 minutes until cheese is melted and mixture is heated through.
Bake uncovered, 10 minutes until cheese is lightly browned and serve as your favor.
